"After successful funding from the Sport England Active England Project, works were commissioned from Vincent Stokes following the successful and highly praised refurbishment works completed previously in the year at another City Council centre.

We had a very tight timescale, which Vincent Stokes rose admirably to and works started in earnest at the earliest opportunity. 14 weeks later the Pool had undergone a complete transformation and is now an exceptional facility that the City Council is proud to be re opening to the public for pay and play usage for the very first time.

Working with Vincent Stokes has enabled the Council to be able to deliver a high quality facility in both itÕs design and standard of fixture, fitting and finishes, proving that Councils too can provide facilities that easily compare to and can deliver what the current private prestige fitness clubs and centres have to offer.

The standard of workmanship especially in the tiling is high, and the Architects attention to detail and lighting scheme has lifted what was a drab pre fabricated building into a state of the art leaner pool that the residents and schools of Cambridge City will take great pleasure in using.

The project has been very professionally managed and constant communication with myself as the client has led to this project being delivered on time and in budget. The design team has worked well and listened to and delivered upon our objectives and thoughts on how the pool should look and what will work for us operationally.

We are now looking forward to being able to offer our residents a high quality facility to the standards they deserve.

Who knows this facility could inspire Cambridge swimmers to be the next generation of Olympic hopefuls!"
