

The Southwark projects were completed on time and on budget but equally, if not more importantly, with due care, attention and consideration to the members of each centre, who were still accessing both sites whilst significant building works were taking place. The programme of works was planned to minimise disruption to our members and the phased programme meant that we only had to close our gyms for two days during 8 months of building work. This allowed us to maintain excellent relations with our members whilst we delivered them a fantastic refurbished centre, commercially this was vital to us! I cannot recommend VS enough and they would be my first choice delivery partner for any projects in the future.
The Three Rivers Leisure Centre project involved a new build comprising two swimming pools with changing village, group exercise studios, café, reception and new changing facilities fitness and sports hall users. It was an interesting and complex project as the new facilities were added onto an existing ‘dry’ sports centre comprising of a gym, sports hall and studio. With the development being right in the centre of a residential area, it was vital that good links were established with the local community who would be living with the development for 18 months. VincentStokes were considerate with their travel to and from site and parking, there was always a point of contact for residents to contact if required and there was proactive communication with residents through newsletters.
I had the pleasure of attending the clinic launch this afternoon, it was fantastic to see the final result. It’s turned out even better than I had hoped and the feedback from the senior leadership was very positive. I’d like to congratulate everyone on a great team effort. It was only five months ago that we all walked into a newly acquired site and from a standing start have managed to deliver this. This has only been possible with a lot of good collaboration and working at pace from the outset in coming up with a design solution that worked and turning that into a real scheme delivered in a difficult environment to work with. The good news is that the hard work getting this completed for early December has reaped commercial rewards as hoped – the clinic is effectively fully booked from Monday until Christmas!

VincentStokes’ professional service during the development works at Porchester Hall has impressed the whole team, from the beginning of the consultation process through to the final hand-over. Both Rob Deans and Mark Allard maintained the tough deadlines set and the level of finish achieved is staggering. The Events venue has never looked better!
